2. the safety drunk. An IV bag loaded with water, electrolytes and vitamins connected to a drip that clips to the inside of your mouth, after a night of heavy imbibing. rehydrate while you sleep.

3. the smart meter. A wireless system that monitors your houses utility usage realtime. California is trying to do this already.

4. the american idol model. For presidential elections people would vote via the internet or 800 number.

5. the fine pils pill - a pill you can drop into a PBR that turns it into a fine German pilsner.

I just wanna go on the record before the deed is done: executing Saddam is a BAD idea. What purpose is it going to serve besides throwing gas on an out of control fire? Personally I think we ought to leave Iraq post haste, help the government get on their feet some other way, and give each Iraqi 10,000 dollars an Xbox and an hallmark apology card.  And apologize in general to the world's Muslims. It's clear now why Saddam was such a bastard, to control a "country" made up of Shiites, Sunnis and Kurds would take one iron fist. Meanwhile, Osama is still one happy guy.

Searching for Danni Iosello's email address I stumbled onto this. 1990 or 1991 (before the internet gasp) I put a rock show on in Lower Glad (Gladfelter, the dining hall at Warren Wilson College). My fledgling rockabilly band The Diaganols were opening for a band I worshipped at the time, Roosevelt. It was a weird show, but I remember Danni Iosello was there and presented Ballard with a copy of this 7". Now Steve Dunnington is one of my bestest friends, and Danni lives in Marshall, NC (!) with Tim Hurley of Califone and Red Red Meat - their current band Sin Ropas. All I wanted was to ask Danni for some cool places to visit in Chicago, and blam I step right into the way-back machine.
