This isn't the music I ordered - a symphony of unexplainable fury that's stuck on repeat? Angela and I, we're simple folks, and we try as best we can to follow all the instructions. Clean diaper. Just fed. Gas drops. Tight swaddle. Moment of silence. Cover your head 3,2,1 MeltDOWN. We're desensitized, dead tired, and almost hallucinating. Is this our fault? Is this karma? Mom, Dad, I'm REALLY sorry for all the pain and suffering I put you through. Please lift the curse. Serious.

We do, we read The Happiest Baby on the Block and we've got the 5 s's down to military precision. She haaaaaates to be swaddled tightly. She also hates it when I try to cram the pacifier in her mouth as if it were a cork, to plug that damn racket up. Maybe I need to work on my style. MAYBE she needs to shut the hell up!! We're going to buy a cheese platter, one of those with the blg glass domes, and we're gonna put her in it. Mmmm cheeese.

Hayes hated to be swaddled... so we thought. Then we tried it with his hands at his sides... which I think is how the dude who wrote Happiest says to do it. He struggles a bit then nod off. Seems to work.

For the record I do not wish her to "shut the hell up". I was trying to be funny. Not funny cursing around/about an innocent little newborn. She could however "tone it down a notch".
